Samsung Galaxy A8s official: there’s the notch

Samsung has decided to put a small notch in the Infinity O screen of the new Galaxy A8s, a choice that anticipates the display we'll see on Galaxy S10

Most likely, we won't have to wait for the Galaxy S10 to see the notch on a smartphone from the South Korean manufacturer. Although there still remains some doubt about which model of Samsung Galaxy S10 will have the notchm it is known with certainty that the display Infinity O will make its appearance on the Galaxy A8s.

This is not the first major innovation that Samsung should present between the end of 2018 and early 2019: think, for example, the decision to put four rear cameras to its Galaxy A9 2018. The fact is that the South Korean company continues in its new strategy of wanting to equip even mid-range smartphones with technology usually seen only on top-of-the-line devices. Evidently, competition from Chinese manufacturers - Huawei and Xiaomi above all - is starting to scare in that of Seoul.

How will the Galaxy A8s

Let's not expect the very obvious notch of Apple, nor the teardrop one typical of Huawei and other Chinese Android manufacturers. The notch with Infinity O screen is nothing more than a small circle placed on the left side of the device to allow the insertion of the front camera. The Galxy A8s will therefore have a notch but it will be a totally new notch compared to those seen in the iOS and Android world to date. The notch that we will see on Galaxy A8s will be large 6.7 mm. Almost imperceptible in short, not to compromise the full-view experience of the screen. As for the technical features on board we will have to find the Snapdragon 670 or 675 processor and 4 or 6GB of RAM. There are instead three rear cameras on the Galaxy A8s.

This choice of Samsung for its Galaxy A8s also suggests us how the screen of the Galaxy S10 will be, according to sources inside the South Korean company in fact the slot for the front camera on the top of the range will be only 2-3 millimeters large. Practically non-existent and we can not even talk about a notch but it will be a full-view screen with camera integrated into the display in practice.
