Samsung, which smartphones will receive updates for 3 years

Samsung has announced that it will offer support for updates to new versions of Android for its Galaxy smartphones for the next 3 years: here are which ones they will be

The fragmentation of operating systems is one of the biggest problems of Android. If smartphone manufacturers usually guarantee to update to only two versions of Android, Samsung relaunches and offers for its Galaxy up to 3 years of updates of Google's operating system for mobile devices.

This is an announcement that Samsung made during the Unpacked event in August and that went almost unnoticed. But three years of upgrading Android to later versions is a move that is decidedly counter to that of other manufacturers. Usually these are in fact limited to only 2 years of updates, if not even for some smartphones to a single year of updating the operating system. This implies that going forward in years, some apps designed for later versions of Android will not run on the smartphone and it will easily become obsolete.

Samsung, Android updates for three generations

The announcement of the extension of Android updates for "three generations" by Samsung came quietly during the launch of the new Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphones.
