Listening to a YouTube video while doing something else on our smartphone is possible without using apps or paid services, on both Android and iOS devices
YouTube is now almost a fundamental service, one of those that users use most often. To discover new tutorials, follow certain channels or simply listen to music. The biggest flaw is the inability to watch videos in the background, but it takes a few small "tricks" to do so.

Riuscire a vedere video in background di YouTube su iOS è abbastanza semplice. E non c’è bisogno di usare jailbreak o app particolari per farlo. Basta aprire il servizio direttamente da Safari. Per prima cosa lanciamo il browser e andiamo su YouTube. Scegliamo il video da riprodurre. A questo punto basta toccare e tenere premuta l’icona di ricarica in alto a destra della finestra di Safari per passare alla “modalità desktop”. Avviamo la produzione del video e clicchiamo sul tasto Home per chiudere Safari. Nella schermata iniziale scorriamo verso l’alto per aprire Action Center e scorriamo verso sinistra per aprire il lettore musicale. In Action Center, a questo punto, noteremo il video di YouTube lì dove di solito troviamo la nostra musica. Basta toccarlo per avviarne la riproduzione.

Su Android è possibile riprodurre video YouTube in background, senza app o servizi a pagamento, usando sia Chrome che Firefox. La versione di Google Chrome però deve essere pari o superiore a V.54. A questo punto se abbiamo tutti i requisiti basta avviare uno dei due browser e andare su YouTube. Here the operations to do are even simpler than on iOS. The advice is to try out the first one to decide whether to buy the second one. Both work in the same way: they show the video in a pop-up window, allowing you to do anything else while it's playing. To use the app, just open YouTube from your browser, choose the video you want to watch and select the URL. Paste the URL of your video into Awesome Pop-up Video. Then press enter and close the app. And that's it.
