Stranger Things 4: who are the new characters

During Netflix's Geeked Week, scheduled from June 7 to 11 on the channel's social, there was also talk of Stranger Things 4 and especially of the new entries in the cast. Let's get to know the new actors better.

The first is Amybeth McNulty, who has already appeared in Call Me Anna. She will play Vickie, a nerdy, talkative and very active girl. She will be the one to capture the attentions of one of the main characters of the series. Who will it be between Dustin, Mike, Will and Lucas? To find out we have to wait for the next episodes.

The cast also includes Myles Truitt (Queen Sugar, Black Mafia Family) who will play the role of Patrick, a basketball star. He lives in Hawkins, where he lives a good life, with lots of friends and a career in sports. But a series of shocking events will cause him to lose this carefree attitude and he'll have to pull out his fingernails to regain control of his life.

We'll also meet Regina Ting Chen (Queen of the South, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier) who will play Ms. Kelly, the school's guidance counselor, in season four. She cares about the students, especially those who are struggling.

The last new entry is Grace Van Dien (Charlie Says, The Village). We will see her as Chrissy: she is the most popular girl in the school and captain of the cheerleaders. Apparently she is perfect and happy, but in reality she hides a huge secret.

Stranger Things: the success of the TV series

The TV series Stranger Things was first broadcast in 2016 on Netflix and immediately became a worldwide phenomenon: it has won more than 65 awards and 175 nominations at fairs and other events related to film and TV series, from the Emmy Awards to the Golden Globes.

The third season in the first four days after its release was seen by 40.7 million users and 64 million in the first four weeks, reaching a record of views on Netflix.

The secret of its success is the perfect mix between a well-structured plot, a cast where stand out characters rich in personality that assemble perfectly with each other. Not least, the nostalgic call to the eighties, which have fascinated entire generations. Stranger Things is a dramatic series, horror and thriller, but there is no shortage of adolescent themes. According to the latest previews, the new season will be released in the last months of 2021.
