Surface Go, Microsoft’s inexpensive anti iPad

Microsoft is launching its 10-inch 2-in-1 tablet, the Surface Go, to meet the needs of freelancers and creatives and to counter the iPads

Microsoft is launching its new inexpensive and lightweight 2-in-1 laptop the Surface Go. Thanks to the cover that turns into a keyboard and rear supports, Microsoft's new device can go from being a convenient tablet to becoming a mini laptop in a matter of moments.

For Redmond this is the ultimate challenge thrown at Apple and its iPad range. The Surface Go focuses on a 10-inch screen and the possibility of having a retractable keyboard that is already attached to the tablet. This way we don't have to carry separate accessories with us and we don't have bulky parts to carry along with the Surface Go. In addition, the new 2-in-1 tablet from Microsoft is launched on the market also with an interactive pen very useful for editing and graphics work. In short, the new Surface Go seems to be created specifically for creatives and freelancers who have to work on the go and can't have too much weight and too many accessories with them.

Surface Go technical features

Microsoft's new Surface Go weighs 1.15 pounds and is 8.3 millimeters thick. The 10-inch display is made with PixelSense technology in high resolution. The Surface Go has a page adaptation based on rotation: if used horizontally it simulates a two-page view, like a classic paperback book, if turned vertically it enlarges the view to a single page to allow us to write or work on a document in total comfort. In addition, the screen in adapts the brightness and display settings depending on what we do. For example, it adjusts to not strain your eyes when writing or reading text and instead brings out colors and details if you're playing a video. The Surface GO is powered by the Intel Pentium Gold processor 7th generation 4415Y, supported by 4 or 8 GB of RAM, and space on the solid state hard drive that is 64 or 128 GB, depending on the model you decide to buy. Finally, according to statements by Microsoft, the 2-in-1 tablet has up to nine hours of battery life on a single charge.

Accessories and price Surface Go

As mentioned, the three accessories to work in comfort on the Surface Go are the Surface Pen, the wireless mouse and the retractable keyboard that also becomes a cover and that can be detached from the body of the tablet if necessary. In the back of the new device from Microsoft to counter the Apple iPad also has a small removable stand that serves to hold the screen when we put the Surface Go on a desk or table. The keyboard has 5 touch points for multi-gesture functions while the Surface Pen offers nearly 500 different features for creatives and designers. Surface Go will be available for pre-order starting July 10  2018 in the following markets: United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Italy, Portugal and Spain.
