The final and long-awaited season of La Casa di Carta has once again been postponed. It was supposed to be released on April 7, 2021 but the production has not confirmed the news. The indiscretion had been circulating since the beginning of 2021, when filming had begun.
The TV series created by Álex Pina is one of the most watched in recent years: it aired for the first time in 2017, conquering Spanish audiences first and then the rest of the world. The House of Paper: why it should have been released on April 7
On January 30, 2021 Netflix posted on social media with Alvaro Morte and Pedro Alonso, the two actors who play respectively the Professor and his brother Berlin, two emblematic characters of The House of Paper. The message that accompanied the photograph was clear: "This photo on the set to remind you that, whatever happens, the fifth season of The House of Paper will come." From that moment on, rumors arose, especially in Spain, announcing the end of filming and the release on Netflix set for April 7, 2021. The news then seemed practically certain, although in fact the company that owns the platform has never made it official.
A few weeks later on Twitter was released the poster of the fifth season, which announced the arrival of the series by April 30, 2021. The post was reported by the main Spanish newspapers and word quickly spread around the world.
The House of Paper 5: the creator of the series leaves fans in suspense
In the midst of the confusion, series creator Álex Pina shared a thought with all fans of The House of Paper:
"We thought more than a year about how to make the gang break up, put the professor on the ropes and bring some characters into irreversible situations. The result is The House of Paper Part 5. The battle reaches the most extreme and wildest levels, but the season is the most exciting and epic ever."
So it will be the most spectacular season yet, featuring the Professor acting once again to help his fellow travelers. Of course, these words have started so many speculations about the season finale.
Many people, however, think that the finale will be open-ended and that soon we might even see spin-offs of the TV series. But these are and remain only hypotheses.
In the meantime, all that remains is to wait for official news: only Netflix or other members of the production will be able to clarify exactly when the last episodes of the TV series will be released.
