The Lord of the Rings: here’s when the TV series comes out

Amazon Prime video has revealed the official release date of the series dedicated to the Lord of the Rings: there is a wait, but it's worth it.

Finally, through its official account on Instagram, Amazon Prime Video has revealed a date that millions of its users around the world have been waiting for a long time: that of the arrival of the first episode of the new series dedicated to the Lord of the Rings saga. After the trilogy of cinematic colossals of 2001-2003, then, the time has come to see the episodes inspired by the novel written by J.R.R. Tolkien in 1955.

The date to mark on the calendar, however, is unfortunately still quite far away: September 2, 2022. A little more than a year and finally we will be immersed again in the fantastic and surreal atmosphere of the company of the ring with a new series exclusively on Prime Video, which will be distributed worldwide. Still do not know the name definitive series, but little matter, we will once again immerse ourselves in one of the most successful works of the last millennium inspired by Tolkien's best seller. The series will be set in the Second Age of the world of Arda and will show the rise to power in Middle Earth of the evil Sauron. The rumors regarding the production have been able to keep the attention high in these months of filming and after the official shot came the final announcement of the release date.

A record-breaking series

What we will see is a record-breaking series. Not only was $250 million spent on the TV rights a few years ago, but to date the series has cost the production $465 million.
