After five successful seasons, all available on the Netflix platform, Luther will become a movie. The London police inspector played by Idris Elba is back. We will see again his talent at work and who knows if his brilliant mind will be able to keep him at bay from his irrepressible passions.
The last season of the detective series Luther aired in 2019. Since then, millions of fans have wondered and hoped for a continuation of the stories. In these hours the hope has been fulfilled with a post that appeared on the official account of the Netflix platform that speaks precisely about Luther. No trailer or official images and there is no trace of plot of the film, but it will be there. Sono trascorsi due anni dall’ultima stagione della serie e Idris Elba torna a vestire i panni dell’ispettore di polizia che lo ha reso famoso, oltre essere uno tra i personaggi più iconici da lui interpretati.
Idris Elba grazie ai panni dell’affascinante ispettore di polizia John Luther ha anche ricevuto candidature a prestigiosi riconoscimenti e premi per la tv. Nel 2012 ha vinto un Golden Globe e Screen Actors Guild Awards come miglior attore per la mini serie Luther. Finalmente il suo personaggio più amato sbarca sul grande schermo.
Anticipazioni sul cast di Luther
Andy Serkis e Cynthia Erivo faranno parte del cast del film Luther e saranno tra i personaggi principali. Erivo interpreterà un collega di John, molto dedito al lavoro, alla giustizia e con valori forti. Ad Andy Serkis spetta invece il ruolo del cattivo per antonomasia: il criminale al centro della storia che dovrà essere arrestato.
Neil Cross, creatore della serie è anche lo sceneggiatore del film. La regia invece è stata affidata a Jamie Payne che ha diretto con successo altri spettacoli televisivi come Outlander o The Alienist oltre a essere stato il regista dell’ultima stagione prodotta di Luther.
Le riprese per la produzione della pellicola sono state avviate di recente: non esiste una data di uscita, né di un possibile trailer, né tanto meno quella del film.
