The new Nokia 9 PureView and the power of its 5 cameras

Nokia 9 PureView will make its official debut during Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona. Confirmed 5-lens rear camera compartment

The Nokia 9 Pureview is ready to make its official debut. After months of anticipations and rumors, the smartphone will be presented on February 24, 2019, in the event that the Finnish company has organized in Barcelona for the Mobile World Congress 2019, the most important telephony fair in the world. In the invitation that Nokia has sent to the press, the most important feature of the device is shown: the rear camera compartment composed of as many as five lenses.

Nokia is betting a lot on this new smartphone. The device should revive the ambitions of the Finnish brand in the top of the range, undisputed dominance of Samsung, Huawei and Apple. Since Nokia has returned to the world of smartphones has made very interesting devices and good value for money, but has not launched a phone that had innovative features and different from the competition. The goal of the Nokia 9 PureView is to create that "WOW" effect that so far has been lacking. And the five rear cameras are an absolute novelty for the world of smartphones.

Nokia 9, the features

The data sheet of the Nokia 9 PureView promises great things. On board the smartphone we find the Snapdragon 845 chipset, supported by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The choice to include Qualcomm's processor from last year could put the device in trouble, especially in comparison with the new Galaxy S10, Huawei P30, OnePlus 7 and Xiaomi Mi 9. The design of the smartphone is also "retro". From the press renders published on the Web, we can see rather pronounced upper and lower bezels and the absence of both the notch and the hole on the screen. The screen will be 5.99 inches with 2K resolution.

As already anticipated, the feature on which Nokia will focus will be the rear photo module consisting of 5 sensors made by Zeiss. An innovative solution and so far never seen on a smartphone. Thanks to the images published online you can also guess how the lenses will be positioned. They will form a sort of star, thanks also to the presence of the LED flash and AF module. In addition to the main sensor, there will be a wide-angle lens, a telephoto, a monochrome sensero and a ToF (Time of Flight) sensor for the depth of field. In the front, however, the photo sensor will be 12 Megapixels.

Under the screen we will find the fingerprint sensor. 4150mAh Battery. The Nokia 9 PureView will be part of the Android One family and will have a pure version of the operating system.

Nokia 9, price and release date

The Nokia 9 will be officially presented on February 24 in Barcelona. It is expected to arrive on the market in March. There is no information about the price of the Nokia 9 PureView, but it is unlikely to be less than 700-800 euros.
