The secret of the camera under the screen of ZTE Axon 30

ZTE Axon 30 is very close to the debut: the latest news before the debut, such as the rumored camera under the display and multifunctional NFC.

One of the most recurring themes for the moment in the world of technology is that of the camera under the screen, a novelty that teases many and that has the potential to make us feel a bit in the future. After all, having a camera that is always invisible is certainly fascinating, and many are working on this technology. But it is difficult to get a great result.

The men of ZTE are also working on it, the same that first made one for the general public, with Axon 20 (pictured) which was the first smartphone in the world with a camera under the display. More than an achievement, with the benefit of hindsight we can say that it was an experiment: the results in the field, at the time, have highlighted a quality of selfie reviewable, so both ZTE (with Axon 30) as well as the competition, which perhaps already anticipated the launch of a product with a similar feature in a short time, have realized that there was still a lot of work to be done before making the technology really fashionable and affordable for everyone. But ZTE will try again with Axon 30 - which will be presented tomorrow - the successor of the first smartphone with an under-screen camera.

The display of ZTE Axon 30 without too many compromises

Needless to say that on ZTE Axon 30, despite itself, fall all the expectations that the predecessor was not able to honor. Even before appearing on the market, therefore, for ZTE Axon 30 does not look like an easy task. In recent weeks it has been said that to make it easier to work with the camera under the display the same would have had to give up the technical specifications and an exciting quality, but it seems that it will not be so.

If the promotional teasers received a few hours before the presentation would prove true, in fact, with Axon 30 ZTE would be able to take the famous two birds with one stone: good screen and good camera under the screen. In fact, there is talk of a 6.92-inch display and 120 Hz with a density of 400 pixels per inch (not excellent value, but very good), will cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and will be capable of reproducing over a billion colors. In addition, the Axon 30's screen will make use of 7 layers of high-transmittance materials to increase light transmission to the camera sensor underneath the display, and a dedicated chip that should enhance visual quality.

ZTE Axon 30's "multifunctional" NFC

The interesting aspects of the ZTE Axon 30 aren't limited to the camera, however. A very curious one concerns the NFC, and like the one on the camera under the display comes from one of the official images that will be shown tomorrow by the company during the presentation. NFC, which stands for Near Field Communication, is the technology that allows you to bring your phone close to a compatible object to perform a multitude of actions including making payments, passing through turnstiles at the airport, etc.

ZTE Axon 30 should have a "multifunctional" NFC, that is, able to support over 300 types of bus tickets and allow access to cars. It goes without saying that this feature, if confirmed, at least at first would be the prerogative of the home market, namely China, but who knows that in the future ZTE or a competitor may not propose something similar in our parts.
