The Sony Xperia XA3 will have a cinematic display

The cinematic screen should not be exclusive only to the top of the range Xperia XZ4, but the 21:98 display should be mounted by the Xperia XA3

In addition to the top of the range Xperia XZ4 at the Mobile World Congress 2019 at the end of February in Barcelona Sony should also present another model of smartphone: the Xperia XA3, of which images have just been leaked that are causing discussion. The display, in fact, will be very different from that of most of the devices on the market today.

Passing the lack of the notch, to which Sony said no already with the Xperia XZ4, this mid-range smartphone inherits from its older brother the unusual 21:9 form ratio. Previously, in October 2018, images of this smartphone were shot that showed an 18:9 screen, so with more traditional proportions, and with a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels. The latest speculation speaks instead of 21:9 with 1,080×2,560 pixels. Uncertain yet the size of the screen: the assumptions are 5.9 inches or 6.5 inches.

Schedule Sony Xperia XA3

In the second case the XA3 could have the same size as the XZ4, but lower resolution: the flagship device, in fact, is credited with a QHD+ OLED screen (1,440×3,360 pixels) that according to a new trademark recently registered by Sony will take the name "CinemaWide". The trademark, registered with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), will be able to be applied to (among others) "smartphones, tablets, smartphone software applications, image-processing apparatus, cinema films." It is not yet certain that Sony will also present the display of the XA3 under the name CinemaWide, but it is certain that in recent years the 21:9 format is among the most used in cinema. A format so "stretched" is very useful in watching movies, then in landscape, but applied to a smartphone used in portrait is very high and very narrow.

From the leaked photos, moreover, it would seem that the display of the XA3 has a lower part with very thin frame and an upper one that, on the contrary, steals a lot of space by hosting the front camera and speaker. The rear, on the other hand, shows two cameras with two LED flashes while the fingerprint reader is placed on the side. USB-C connector, and microphone are at the bottom of the device. As for the technical specifications "under the shell", the latest rumors speak of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC processor, 4 GB of Ram and 64 GB of internal storage. The battery will be 3,500 mAh.
