The characters of the animated series written by Iginio Straffi return to the small screen for a TV series broadcast in streaming: here are all the details
The Magical World of the Winx is the Italian animated series, created by Iginio Straffi and aired from 2004 to 2014. It accompanied little girls and boys for a good 10 years, involving them in numerous adventures. The good news is that now they are ready to return to the small screen, in a truly original way.
We will see them in fact in the flesh (ie not in the form of cartoon) in a TV series that will air on Netflix from January 22, 2021. The title is Fate: The Winx Saga and it will always focus on them, the famous five fairies who attend Alfea, the prestigious school of magic of Beyond World, and who clash daily with strange creatures that threaten the Planet and their existence. The streaming platform, therefore, welcomes an important challenge, that of renewing one of the most famous animated series of all time. The news has already gone around the world and has intrigued many fans of live action and fantasy. The platform will not disappoint expectations by offering a product suitable for both a young audience and a more adult.
Fate: The Winx Saga: what do we know about the new Netflix series
The year 2021 will open with a meeting between novelty and nostalgia, on the one hand a cutting-edge live action, on the other many memories related to the old animated series.
The TV series about the magical Winx will consist of six episodes and will be produced by Archery Pictures in collaboration with the studio Rainbow from the Marche region, which also handled the production of the cartoon. The showrunner instead will be Brian Young, who has already worked on the renowned teen series about vampires The Vampire Diares.
The protagonists are always them, Bloom, Stella, Aisha, Musa and Terra (which in the cartoon was instead called Flora). The five fairies will be involved in a series of adventures related to typical teenage issues. In addition, they will have to deal with strange creatures that threaten their lives and the whole planet.
Fate: The Winx Saga: the cast
It is not yet known how much of the "old" Winx there will be in the new show but there is one element that jumps immediately to the eye, namely the presence of a cast composed of five young and brilliant actresses.
The main character Bloom will be played by Abigail Cowen, while actress Hannah van der Westhuysen will play Stella.
Precious Mustapha will play Aisha, while the role of Musa will be played by Elisha Applebaum. Finally, the character of Flora, who will be called Terra in the TV series, will be played by Eliot Salt.
No further details about the new episodes are known yet, but if the project is successful it will definitely be confirmed for a second season. In the meantime you can watch on Netflix shows of the teen drama genre.
