Actress and model Jodie Turner-Smith joins the cast: she will play the warrior Éile and will have a crucial role in the plot, here are the details.

The wait is growing for the prequel to The Witcher: Blood Origin. Netflix had announced the arrival during the summer of 2020, and now finally released more details for all lovers of the TV series.

As we know, it will be set about 1200 years before the events of the mother series, which stars Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill). Now we finally have the first official name of the cast: actress and model Jodie Turner-Smith will play the lead role. The public already knows her for other TV series, from Nightflyers to Queen & Slim. The company, in an official note, explained she will be entrusted with the part of Éile, a strong warrior who leaves her life to be an artist and travel the world. The situation will get complicated and she will be forced to wear her armor again to find peace, but also redemption. In short, alongside the second season of The Witcher, we will soon see a spin-off that promises to be great. Here's what we know so far.

The Witcher: the plot of Blood Origin

It will be a mini-series, consisting of six episodes, the sequel to The Witcher. As announced by Netflix, it will be set 1,200 years before the birth of Geralt of Rivia. It will allow to better understand how the first Witcher was born.

It will tell about the community that inhabited the world before the arrival of humans and the Conjunction of the Spheres, the catastrophe that causes the arrival of terrible creatures.

In short, the world of The Witcher does not stop: Netflix is also thinking of an animated film, The Witcher: Nightmare Of The Wolf, centered on the life of Vesemir, the master of Geralt. After all, the series is one of the most watched on streaming in the last year, beaten only by Lupin, released in recent weeks.

In the meantime, work continues on the second season of The Witcher, and those who love fantasy but have not yet seen it can remedy immediately: the first season is on Netflix.
