No charging port, no jack, no speaker: Meizu Zero takes its name from the total lack of external ports and physical buttons. We are talking about the latest creation of the Chinese company, which presented a unique smartphone, with no ports and no holes on the screen. This is a very ambitious project and one that shows how smartphones will change in the coming years.
To finance the development of the Meizu Zero, the Chinese company asked for help on Indiegogo, a crowdfunding platform usually used by startups to finance innovative projects. Per paura di spendere soldi inutilmente, Meizu ha aperto una raccolta fondi sulla piattaforma mettendo in vendita i primi 100 Meizu Zero: il prezzo è di 1299 dollari, al cambio circa 1135 euro. L’obiettivo dell’azienda è raggiungere 100.000 dollari per dar vita al progetto e iniziare con le spedizioni da aprile 2019.
Caratteristiche Meizu Zero
La curiosità di appassionati e addetti ai lavori nei confronti del nuovo smartphone è ampiamente giustificata: il prodotto di Meizu è il primo al mondo senza pulsanti fisici, speaker e persino senza una porta USB per la normale ricarica via cavo. Per mantenere la sua scocca completamente liscia e senza tasti, tagli o fori, Meizu Zero presenta dei sensori touch sul lato che sostituiscono i tasti del volume e dell’accensione.
La ricarica della batteria avviene tramite la tecnologia wireless, mentre lo speaker audio è sostituito dallo schermo. Meizu has developed a technology that allows sound to be transmitted through the display, making the presence of the microphone and speaker unnecessary.
The Chinese company for the moment has not provided information on the technical characteristics of the device. The only certain news concerns the processor (Snapdragon 845) and the size of the OLED screen (5.99 inches). At the back there will be room for a dual camera, while for the front camera Meizu did not explain where it will be placed. The fingerprint sensor will be placed under the screen.
How to buy Meizu Zero
The crowdfunding project has just started and there will be one month to reach the $100,000 goal. The price of the Meizu Zero is $1299 (about €1135) and shipping will start from April 2019.
