Where to watch live matches of women’s Serie A

Recently, the TV rights of women's soccer have also changed hands: here's where to watch live matches of women's Serie A (and more)

It's a time of television revolutions in the world of men's soccer, yes, but more than something is moving in the panorama of women's soccer as well. If Serie A TIM 2021-2022 of the former has passed entirely into the hands of Dazn, women's soccer has probably undergone a deeper and more important revolution, top series included.

The matches of the young athletes involved in the top Italian football series, the women's Serie A, but also the matches of the women's Coppa Italia and the women's Supercoppa Italiana of the next two seasons, therefore 2021-2022 and 2022-2023, have passed into the hands of La7 and Timvision. Urbano Cairo's broadcaster, also the patron of Torino, has reached an agreement with the FIGC for the two-year period 2021-2023 for the transmission of a match for each day of the championship, while the streaming platform of the telephone operator will broadcast live all the matches of the top series.

Where to watch women's soccer live

The agreement signed by the Italian Football Federation with the two Italian companies does not concern, as mentioned, only the women's Serie A. La7 and Timvision have obtained the TV broadcasting rights for the remaining two most important competitions of the Women's Football Division, that is, the Italian Cup and the Italian Super Cup.

So the Women's A Series will be broadcasted entirely in streaming on Timvision, which will cover all the matches scheduled for each day starting from the first match scheduled for August 28, on La7 and La7d, therefore free to air, there will be a match for each day of the championship. These are the teams that will take part in the 2021-2022 Serie A: Empoli, Fiorentina, Inter, Juventus, Lazio, Milan, Naples, Pomigliano, Rome, Sampdoria, Sassuolo and Hellas Verona.

As far as the Coppa Italia is concerned, Timvision has acquired the rights to broadcast the last stages starting from the quarter-finals, while La7's programming will include the semi-finals and final of the women's Coppa Italia, a tournament that will propose a new format. A total of 28 matches per season for the next two seasons will be visible on Cairo Communication's network.

The revolutions taking place in women's football

The president of the Women's Football Division, Ludovica Mantovani, talked about the new ways of transmitting the three women's tournaments: "The assembly of the Serie A Women's Clubs gave us the mandate to deal with the most concrete offers for the audiovisual rights for the next two seasons. In addition to finding all the matches on TimVision's Ott, the great novelty will be that of being able to see one match per day free to air on La7, thus giving the movement the possibility of being able to reach more and more people and families all over Italy".

In the same direction are the novelties passed by the Federal Council of the FIGC on June 9: starting from the 2022-2023 season, the number of clubs competing in the Women's A Series will go from the current 12 to 10, with the relegations that will consequently level off from two per season to just one.
