Wiko presents Y62, the 90 euro smartphone that lasts a day and a half

A new smartphone is coming to the Italian market for those who are mainly looking for savings and a long autonomy: it is the Wiko Y62.

A smartphone that, for less than 90 euros, has a battery that lasts a day and a half. This is Y62, the new device from Wiko that uses an intelligent AI Power technology dedicated to energy saving that can manage the consumption of third-party apps, for a prolonged autonomy during use.

This is a low-end model but interesting features (as is typical of the French company that has always aimed at the substance and little frills), which make this smartphone produced by Wiko a viable alternative for those who do not want to give up the main features - and even something more - investing a very low figure. Interesting is also the amount of accessories offered by the manufacturer and already available in the sales package. In fact, once opened the box, it's possible to find inside, obviously besides the cell phone and the battery charger, also the transparent cover to protect the device in case of falls or accidental bumps and the protective film against scratches to apply to the display.

Wiko Y62, technical specifications

Inside Wiko's Y62 we find a 1.8GHz quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 processor, along with a combination of 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, expandable up to 256GB thanks to the MicroSD memory card slot. Powering everything and ensuring a duration exceeding the day is, however, the 3000mAh battery with AI Power Saver technology.

As for the screen, however, this smartphone from the small size mounts a 6.1-inch display in 19:9 widescreen format, with HD+ resolution and LCD IPS technology, set in a compact body with fairly thin edges. Equipped with 4G connectivity and dual sim, has as its pre-installed operating system Android 11 Go Edition.

From the photo / video point of view, Y62 has available the app Camera Go by Google, which controls a 5MP rear sensor, as well as a front one also 5MP. Boosting its capabilities is Google's Night Mode, which makes colors more vivid and images more defined in low light. There's also an HDR mode.

The list of features is completed by the Google Assistant button, Face Unlock for unlocking the screen with your face, Simple Mode for displaying all your favorite apps on one screen (an option that older users will appreciate), and smart access keys. There is also a 3.5mm mini jack connector at the top of the body for the use of wired headphones.

Wiko Y62, colors and launch date

As confirmed in the opening, Wiko's Y62 will go on sale in the coming days at a price of €89.99. This is a very low price for a device with decidedly "basic" features, which, however, has a very specific audience: those looking for a phone, first of all, and a smartphone in the second place.

For color lovers, finally, the smartphone will be launched in three different shades: Dark Blue, Light Blue and Mint, with a gradient effect and a diagonal tactile texture that improves the grip.
