Xiaomi 12 will officially debut in China next week and will do so in two versions that apparently only differ in size
Xiaomi has finally unveiled its plans by announcing the presentation date of at least two versions of its new 2022 top of the line. Xiaomi 12, in fact, will be presented in China next week and you can already appreciate its front design in some images (opening photo) published by the company itself on the Chinese social Weibo.
Although there are very few information about the technical specifications of the device, some hints provides the chipset that, as known for some time now, will be the new top of the range of Qualcomm. This solution should lead to significant improvements not only in pure performance, but also in photo quality, connectivity and charging speed. Surprises are not excluded, namely that Xiaomi will choose to use the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor or a more modest Qualcomm on some of the versions of the 12 series. This would allow it to be competitive in every market segment.
Xiaomi 12, what it will be like
Xiaomi 12 will certainly be very interesting, but what increases expectations is that it will be among the first smartphones to adopt the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. In addition, as CEO Lei Jun said, we will see for the first time the new proprietary graphical interface MIUI 13, based on the Android 12 operating system.
The latest images published by Xiaomi, hint that two variants will be presented, having the same design but different sizes: it could be Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro. The display is an edge-to-edge with very small edges, rounded corners and a punch-hole configuration, with selfie camera in the hole in the middle of the top end.
According to recent rumors, Xiaomi 12 should use a main camera consisting of three lenses of 50 megapixels each: main sensor, ultra wide angle and telephoto with 5X optical zoom.
Other details remain unknown at the moment, including possible configurations and differences between the models that will be presented.
Xiaomi 12, when it arrives in Italy
According to what the Chinese company revealed via the post on Weibo, the Xiaomi 12 series will debut via a presentation event that will be held in Beijing on December 28. At least two devices should make their appearance, but there could also be the debut of a model called Xiaomi 12X, which is a slightly cheaper variant of the top of the range.
Just a year ago, Xiaomi Mi 11 was presented in China, and then also arrived on the shelves of Italian stores in March 2021. We can therefore expect Xiaomi 12 to follow the same path, arriving in Italy in the first quarter of the new year.
To know all the information about this smartphone we will have to wait only a few days and probably we will know something more about its global debut as well.
