The Xiaomi 12 range is on the home stretch. It has been rumored for some time, and no rumors, for the moment, has rowed in the opposite direction, so it is expected to be presented by the end of 2021 as suggested by the rumors with a number of components in the range that, as per Xiaomi tradition, will be numerous.
Of course there will be the spearhead Xiaomi 12 Ultra, called to bring to market the best technology that the company will be able to put at the service of its customers in this year made atypical and tribulated because of the crisis of the chips. And certainly there will be a Xiaomi 12 "standard", which will have technical specifications as a result of a compromise with the list price. Alongside the two, however, there should also be Xiaomi 12X, a product that, according to information filtering from the production chain, will attempt to raise the compromise between features and price. Xiaomi 12X, chip not recent but very powerful
According to the latest information, Xiaomi 12X will be a relatively inexpensive variant of the new Xiaomi 12 range, which should be presented in a few weeks, certainly after the debut of the Snapdragon 898 chip that will stand at the top of Qualcomm's 2022 range and that the Xiaomi 12 will be among the first products to use.
It will certainly do without the Xiaomi 12X, which was born with different goals than the next "top" Chinese. The smartphone will try to combine high performance with a relatively affordable price, so the company has preferred to use the Snapdragon 870, a very high performance chip because it is derived from the Snapdragon 865 and 865+ that Qualcomm had at the top of the range in 2020 and therefore still very valid.
It could not be otherwise, after all, for a chip, the Snapdragon 870, which looking at the technical specifications has an octa core architecture capable of pushing up to 3.2 GHz maximum frequency, which Xiaomi 12X - known "internally" with the product code 2112123AG - will benefit to offer the most when the situation requires it to customers who choose it.
Top screen but manageable
After all, from the information that ended up on the net, it seems that Xiaomi 12X will be an Android smartphone particularly devoted to multimedia. Not so much for the size of the screen, which according to rumors will be large but not huge, but for its features: AMOLED technology, Full HD+ resolution, HDR10+ support and above all a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
As for the size of the screen, the well-informed have deduced the diagonal from the measures of the panel itself: the long side will measure 145.4 mm, the width will be 65.4 mm, all for a diagonal that consequently, for the rumors, will be 6.28 inches, which is enough to combine compactness with usability. The main camera is expected to 50 megapixels, but unfortunately for the moment we do not yet know the details of the other sensors used.
