Xiaomi CC9, presented on July 2 the low-cost smartphone for young people

The Xiaomi CC9 will be a low-cost device suitable for young people. On board we find the Snapdragon 730 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Three cameras on the back

A new series of smartphones branded Xiaomi is about to be born and will be dedicated to younger users. It was the same company to announce, on the Chinese social network Weibo, the launch date and the name of the new devices: on July 2, Xiaomi will present the CC series. The first two devices will be the Xiaomi CC9 and the Xiaomi CC9e.

Xiaomi also released a promotional video, which explains that the acronym CC stands for "Camera & Clicks", "Chic & Cool", "Charming & Cute", "Curious & Creative", "Crush & Crush", "Challenge & Carry on", "Cheer & Celebrate", and then closes with the slogan "Be yourself, Be CC". The number 9 with which the CC line opens celebrates Xiaomi's ninth year in business, having been founded on April 6, 2010. The CC range also marks the beginning of a collaboration between Xiaomi and Meitu, a Chinese software house that develops XiuXiu, an image editing software popular with Chinese teenagers, who use it to apply filters to the photos they take with their smartphones. In particular to selfies.

How will the Xiaomi CC9

The CC9 will be the top of the range of the new series of Xiaomi smartphones dedicated to young people. As far as what's leaked at the moment, the CC9 will have everything it takes to convince them to buy it: a large 6.39-inch FHD+ (1080×2340 pixels) AMOLED screen, a 32 MP front camera encased in a notch, a rear camera department with three lenses (48+16+12 MP). Qualcomm's Snapdragon 730 will handle it all while the battery will be 4,000 mAh with 27-watt fast charging (non-wireless).

What the Xiami CC9e will look like

Xiaomi CC9e will be the cheaper and slightly less powerful version of the CC9. It will have a 5.97-inch (1080×230 pixels) AMOLED FHD+ screen, Snapdragon 710, 3,500 mAh battery and 18-watt charging. The front camera will be the same, but at the rear it will be down to 48+8+5 MP.

The Flip-up Camera Hypothesis

As for the camera department of both new youth smartphones from Xiaomi, however, a different hypothesis has also been circulating in recent days: they might adopt a flip-up solution similar to the one already seen on Asus ZenFone 6. At the moment no confirmation, but also no denial, on this hypothesis. If it were confirmed, however, it could certainly be very pleasing to younger people, namely the target audience of Xiaomi CC9 and CC9e.
