Xiaomi Mi 9 with triple camera and under-screen fingerprint reader

Xiaomi is ready to launch the Mi 9, the first top-of-the-line of 2019. On board the Snapdragon 855 with 10GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage

Among the most anticipated top-of-the-line smartphones in 2019 there is definitely the Xiaomi Mi 9, of which, however, nothing official is known yet. At the end of December 2018, the first rumors had come out, which now seem to be confirmed by new leaks. As for the presentation date of this device, however, there is still a lot of uncertainty.

The most significant leak is a photo of a Xiaomi executive plucked in a restaurant with what would seem to be just an advanced prototype of the Mi 9. From the photo you can see that this smartphone has the triple rear camera: one should be a good 48 Megapixels, another 20 Megapixels, while still nothing is known about the third but it is assumed the presence of a ToF (Time of Flight) sensor for the depth of field. Moving on to the front, however, a second leak is offered by the Lithuanian designer Benjamin Geskin on his social profiles has published the latest concept of the Mi 9, with very small central notch (similar to that of the Huawei P20 and much smaller in size than that of the current iPhone) and fingerprint reader integrated into the 6.4-inch OLED screen with FHD+ resolution (1.

Xiaomi Mi 9, the characteristics

Other rumors confirm the technical specifications already leaked in December, starting with the processor: the new Xiaomi Mi 9 will mount the Snapdragon 855, in turn the cutting edge in the offer of Qualcomm and very likely the processor most used in the flagship phones this year. In support there will be three possible cuts of RAM: 6, 8 or 10 GB. From the point of view of pure performance, then, the Xiaomi Mi 9 will be sufficiently equipped to compete with the Chinese Huawei P30 and the Korean Samsung Galaxy S10. The battery should be 3,700 mAh, a figure consistent with the hardware that will have to power for several hours a day. Everyone expects, but there is currently no confirmation, that the Mi 9 will have 5G connectivity.

When the Xiaomi Mi 9 comes out

If these will be the technical specifications, what will be the presentation date of Xiaomi's top of the line 2019? One of the most reasonable assumptions is that the Mi 9 will be officially unveiled in May: the previous Xiaomi Mi 8 was unveiled at the end of May 2018 and it is credible that the Chinese company wants to present the successor twelve months later. Other sources, however, think that the Mi 9 could be presented already at the end of this month: the increasingly numerous leaks would seem to confirm second this hypothesis, considering also that from the photos that are circulating in recent hours the smartphone seems now almost ready and in final version.
