At Mobile World Congress 2019 Xiaomi presented the Mi Mix 3 with support for the 5G network. It will arrive in May in Italy at 599 euros
Xiaomi goes on the attack of the European market and does so with two smartphones that in the coming months will make a lot of talk about them. The Chinese company arrived at Mobile World Congress 2019 with two phones that it had presented in the previous weeks in China and that in the coming days/months will make their European debut. We are talking about the Mi Mix 3 with 5G support and the Xiaomi Mi 9, respectively.
Two top-of-the-line smartphones that feature a different design and the presence of some premium features. The Mi Mix 3 is one of the first smartphones with 5G support to arrive in Italy. During the presentation at Mobile World Congress 2019, Xiaomi assured that the smartphone will arrive in May at a price of 599 euros. The Mi 9, however, is characterized by having the triple rear camera and being one of the best camera phones on the market. And the price is really aggressive: 449 euros for the version 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G, the characteristics
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is not really new for the Italian market. It is already available and can be purchased online or in one of the physical Xiaomi stores. The model presented by the Chinese company in Barcelona is a new version that has some new features. The Snapdragon 855 takes the place of the Snapdragon 845 and most importantly, it mounts the Snapdragon X50 modem that supports the 5G network. This is one of the first 5G smartphones that will arrive in Italy and Xiaomi assured that it has already carried out tests with the main Italian phone operators. During the presentation, the Chinese company also made a 5G video call, showing the quality of images and sound.
As for the rest, the Mi Mix 3 5G has the same design and features as the smartphone launched last year. 6.39-inch OLED display with FullHD+ resolution. The bezels are minimized and the dual front camera is hidden inside the slider. In the back we find two other 12-megapixel cameras.
The Snapdragon 855 is accompanied by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which is not expandable. For unlocking the smartphone we find a physical biometric sensor at the back and facial recognition with "AI Face Unlock" technology.
The Mi Mix 3 5G will arrive in Italy in May at a price of 599 euros.
Xiaomi Mi 9, the features
Presented on January 21 in China, Xiaomi launches the Mi 9 also in Europe. The smartphone will be available for purchase from February 28 at a super aggressive price: the 6/64GB version will cost only 449 euros, half of the top of the range of the main competitors.
The Mi 9 has nothing to envy compared to the various iPhone Xs and Galaxy S10. It mounts a Snapdragon 855 processor with 6/8GB of RAM and 64/128GB of internal storage. The OLED screen is 6.39 inches and has a FullHD+ resolution. The design features a rather small notch.
The most interesting feature of the device is definitely the rear camera compartment. The Mi 9 features a triple camera with 48-megapixel main sensor, 12-megapixel telephoto lens and 16-megapixel wide-angle sensor. The camera module has been rated among the best on the market by DxOMark, a platform that specializes in comparing smartphone cameras.
The Mi9 also integrates a biometric sensor under the screen. 3300mAh battery.
The 8/128GB version will also be available from February 28 at 499 euros.
