ZapBox, the $30 augmented reality viewer

Similar to Google Cardboard, but works like Microsoft's HoloLens: the device offers low-cost augmented reality experiences

We've said it many times. The next test case for hi-tech giants will be the AR/VR sector. Companies from Apple, to Microsoft, through Google and Sony are working, some secretly and some openly, on new devices for augmented and virtual reality.

At the side of these tech giants, who can count on huge financial resources, we also find the projects of some startups. Most of the times they are able to develop devices that have nothing to envy to those made by big companies. As in the case of Zappar, a small English company based in London and specialized in AR/VR technologies. The startup has, in fact, created a cardboard viewer very similar to Google Cardboard.

Come funziona?

The lens adapter, finally, increase the field of view of the smartphone camera, thus offering a deeper augmented reality experience.
