Una Web designer ha messo insieme i film che si vedono solo nei film, ha fatto un tweet, ha chiesto aiuto ed è stata inondata di materiale.
Tutti conoscono Netflix, ma nessuno conosce Nestflix. Eppure, Nestflix è tanto geniale e divertente che prima o poi qualcuno doveva inventarlo. Di cosa si tratta? Ce lo spiega la Web designer Lynn Fisher, che lo ha inventato: Nestflix è “la piattaforma per i tuoi film e spettacoli nidificati preferiti“.
In inglese “nidificati" si dice “nested“, parola che da il nome a Nestflix che, in parole povere, è una classifica Wiki (qundi ordinata con dati e metadati) di tutti i film e le serie TV che esistono solo nei film e nelle serie TV. Mal di testa? E’ molto più semplice di quanto si possa pensare: moltissimi film e serie mostrano degli schermi televisivi in cui si vedono degli show e film che, in realtà, non esistono. Questi show e film sono elencati in Nestflix, con tanto di descrizione e foto (ma non video, per questioni di copyright). Una vera chicca per i nerd del cinema e delle serie, qualcosa a cui nessuno aveva mai pensato prima ma che, nel giro di pochissime ore, ha suscitato un interesse enorme.
Come funziona Nestflix
Nel tweet con il quale ha annunciato la nascita di Nestflix la Fisher lo descrive come “solo una wiki che fa un po’ di cosplay" e, per tanto, invita produttori e piattaforme a non ostacolare la sua creatura con richieste di rimozione delle foto dal sito nestflix.fun, al quale è possibile raggiungere il progetto della designer.
L’interfaccia di nestflix.fun è chiaramente ispirata a quella di Netflix e il database contiene già oltre 400 “storie dentro le storie“. Everything is divided by category, again similar to those of Netflix, and for each tab there are photos, synopsis, cast, producers and the series or movie in which that material or that character appears.
For example there is a tab for "Scorcher", a movie contained within Tropic Thunder (the parody of Apocalypse Nod with Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr.) that contains the cast (only Tugg Speedman, the character played by Ben Stiller in Tropic Thunder) and the reference to the movie in which it is included.
Nestflix is open to everyone
Because it is a game and not a commercial initiative, Nestflix is open to the collaboration of anyone who wants to insert new cards of movies that exist only in movies. Within a few hours, however, Lynn Fisher had to close the collaboration form because she was literally flooded with new material to be included in Nestflix.
Apparently, then, there were really many people waiting for such a project.
