FM 2020: Mentoring as an important factor

Mentoring is suitable to improve the progress of young players. Experienced players are used as mentors; just like in real life.

• You create mentoring groups under the tab of the same name in the "Training" section.
• The decisive factor here is to specify what influence on the group each player has. Ideally, you have in each group a player with significant influence.
• This depends primarily on the status of the players in the team structure: Lead players, i.e. players at the highest level of the hierarchy, have the greatest influence on mentoring.
• In addition, it makes sense to divide mentoring thematically, for example into offense and defense, and assign players accordingly.

Through mentoring, lead players can shorten the acclimation period for new players and, more importantly, pass on positive character traits. In this way, you create a team that is also mentally well positioned.
