iPad is getting slower: What you can do

If your iPad is getting slower and slower, you can delete temporary files via a restart, quit active apps and free up memory. Most of the time, these tips will help your iPad speed up again. To free up memory, additionally delete unnecessary files from the device.

Increase the speed of your iPad

If your iPad is getting slower, you should first force a restart. To do this, press and hold the Home and Power buttons for a few seconds until the Apple logo appears. If your iPad does not have a home button, press the volume up button briefly, then the volume down button briefly, and then press and hold the power button until the device restarts. While the device is booting up again, temporary files will be deleted. If this doesn't help, try quitting active apps and freeing up memory.
