Jira: GitHub Integration - how to proceed

Jira is a software developed mainly for project management, to make working on projects and in teams more effective and efficient. For this purpose, the program holds some useful features and tools to make collaborative work easier.

How to succeed with GitHub integration in Jira

GitHub is a network-based service designed to manage software releases for development projects. In order for you to integrate Jira and GitHub into each other, a few steps are necessary.First, you need to create an OAuth access information in the process:

• To do this, log into the GitHub account using your admin credentials.
• Select "Edit Your Profile".
• Select "OAuth Applications".
• Now click on the option "Developer Applications ".
• Now use "Register new OAuth application".
• Now enter a name for the application.
• Finally enter the Jira software URL for the URL and the callback URL. Use lower case letters when doing this. Click on "Register Application".
• Now leave your browser still open.

Add the OAuth access information to Jira:

• Log in to Jira as admin.
• Go to the gear and select "Options".
• Select "DVCS Accounts" in the "Integration" area.
• Klicken Sie „Link GitHub Enterprise account“ an.
• Tippen Sie einen GitHub Benutzernamen ein.
• Fügen Sie die GitHub URL als Host URL ein.
• Kopieren Sie die „Client ID“ und den „Client Secret“ in das Dialogfeld ein.
• Klicken Sie nun auf „Add“.
