The trend towards digitalization also affects payment and ID documents. Owners of the BahnCard also benefit from this, as they do not necessarily have to carry the plastic card thanks to the mobile version.

Always with you: you can show the mobile BahnCard via smartphone.

The BahnCard must be presented at the checkpoint on the train. If you don't have your plastic card with you, that's no big deal thanks to the digital BahnCard.

Load mobile BahnCard into the app: This is how it works

The basis for the mobile use of your BahnCard is that you have installed the app DB Navigator.

• There you must be logged in with your customer account.
• If a BahnCard exists for this account, you can load it into the app.
• This is quite simple by opening the "BahnCard" section in the app and then "My BahnCards".
• Your BahnCard is automatically loaded there and is in this way like a mobile ticket presentable. There are two views, namely the digitized plastic card and also the QR code, which can be scanned on the train by DB employees.
• The BahnCard 100 is an exception, as it cannot be used mobile via app.

The digital BahnCard is a valid replacement for the plastic card, but only on regular domestic routes in DB trains. For journeys with other carriers and abroad, you still need the original plastic card.
