WhatsApp images are not displayed

You can easily send images via the messenger WhatsApp. If pictures are not displayed to you in WhatsApp, this is probably because WhatsApp has been saved to the wrong location.

If you are not shown any pictures in WhatsApp, or if you get a picture preview in which you do not see the content in full size, WhatsApp is probably installed in the wrong storage location. For WhatsApp to work properly, the app needs to be on the internal device storage.

Move WhatsApp to device storage

To get WhatsApp to display images correctly again, you need to reinstall the app on the device storage. Make a backup of your chats beforehand.

1. Open the settings and then the "Application Manager", "Apps" or "Applications".
2. Tap on "Preferred installation path" and select that apps should be installed on the internal device memory. If you do not see the "Preferred installation path" option, download "AppInstaller" from the Play Store and test it again.
3. Uninstall WhatsApp by tapping it under "Settings > Apps > All apps".
4. Reinstall WhatsApp and restore the backup when setting up.

If the problem occurs on the iPhone, you should also uninstall the app and then reinstall it to fix the problem.If you still get errors, check if you need to update WhatsApp or your operating system. Also, restart your smartphone.

WhatsApp on internal storage: tips

Unfortunately, if you want to save storage space on your smartphone, you cannot save WhatsApp on the SD. Instead, you can regularly move the media that you receive and send via WhatsApp to the SD and thus relieve the local memory.
