Spotlight search on iPhone is a very handy feature. If you know how to use it, you can find content on your iPhone or on the web in seconds without having to search through umpteen menus or the web.

How to use Spotlight search on iPhone

With Spotlight search, you have a built-in search engine on iPhone. You can use it to find all the data and content on your iPhone, as well as info from the Internet. So if you want to change a certain setting, call a contact or look up a definition on the web, just use the Spotlight search on iPhone.If you want to use the handy search function, simply proceed like this:

1. You use the Spotlight search on iPhone by swiping down from the center of the screen and then tapping in the search box.
2. Then simply enter a keyword you want to search for, and you will be shown relevant results directly.
3. If there is not yet the right result, tap "Show more" under the search results.
4. To narrow down the Spotlight search, you can tap "Search in app". Then select the application in which the result should be found.
5. When you tap a search result, it opens in the corresponding app, such as in the browser or in the settings.

If you do not find a search box, then navigate to "Siri & Search" in the settings of the iPhone. Under "Search suggestions & Shortcuts" you must allow apps to be displayed in the Spotlight search.
