BlizzConline 2021: All info on the planned Blizzard event

The worldwide COVID-19 pandemic has had a particularly strong impact on the event industry. Online events are the alternative, and with BlizzConline 2021, Blizzard is making the switch accordingly.

Virtual mega-fair: BlizzConline 2021 is a done deal.

The annual BlizzCon has long been a firm fixture on the gaming scene's calendar. The pandemic-related cancellation of BlizzCon 2020 is to be compensated for at the beginning of the following year.

BlizzConline 2021: Date is fixed

In the fall of 2020, Blizzard announced the following info on the planned event:
  • The BlizzConline will take place on February 19 and 20, 2021.
  • The venue this time is simply Internet. It will be a purely online event - GamesCom 2020 has finally demonstrated how well this can work.
  • While all kinds of show events will continue to be served. Even cosplay is planned, with participants simply presenting their looks via live stream.
  • In addition, there will be numerous other competitions, such as a talent competition, a storytelling competition and an art competition. The active participation of the community thus plays a major role. The submission deadline is January 4, 2021.
  • On the content that Blizzard itself will present, on the other hand, nothing is known yet.
Ebenfalls questionable is whether virtual tickets will be necessary or whether the event should be free to attend. This should be clarified relatively soon; news can be found on the BlizzCon main page or also on the official Twitter channel.
