BlizzConline 2021: These were the highlights - an overview

BlizzConline 2021 was the first event of its kind in Blizzard's history. Regardless of the difficult circumstances, there were some interesting announcements. We summarize the highlights.

From WoW to Hearthstone: there was a lot of important news at BlizzConline 2021.

Normally, BlizzCon always takes place in November. After the corona-related cancellation, there was an online event in February 2021 as a replacement.

BlizzConline 2021: Highlights at a glance

Here are the highlights of the virtual event summarized:

• The most important announcement probably concerned Diablo 2 Resurrection, the remake of the absolute classic. More about it here.
• For Diablo 4, which is still in development, was introduced with the huntress another class.
• Hearthstone gets an add-on. This is called Forged in the Barrens (Forged in the Barrens), in addition, there is the new Mercenaries mode.
• The Arcade Collection is a collection of the three well-known Blizzard classics The Lost Vikings, Blackthorne and Rock N Roll Racing. It is available for 29.99 euros.
• In addition, the first major content patch for the current WoW expansion Shadowlands was presented. Version 9.1 will still be released in 2021 and includes a new area called Korthia including dungeons and raids.
• For the upcoming Overwatch 2, two new maps were shown, namely Rome and New York.

With this, Blizzard has covered and served most major franchises. Since many expansions or games are still to be released in 2021, the time horizon is also pleasantly short.
