CitizenCon 2949: These were the highlights of the event

The annual gathering of Cloud Imperium Games and Star Citizen fans always promises exciting news. Read what features were announced at the 2019 event and what the highlights were.

Dynamic weather, new frontiers: There were some highlights at CitizenCon 2949.

CitizenCon 2949 took place on November 23, 2019 in Manchester, northern England.

CitizenCon 2949: Big and small highlights

The main highlights can be narrowed down to the following:

• A new planet: microTech is located in the Stanton system, it is an icy planet. The landing zone is called New Babbage.
• Fittingly, a new weather technology was shown, in the form of a snowstorm. The dynamic weather is to be introduced in 2020 and has an impact on the life support of your character (keyword hypothermia). Star Citizen gets thereby a portion of survival missed.
• Per wormhole it went for the first time in a new solar system called Pyro. Since everything so far took place in the Stanton system, this is considered a big step.
• All this was presented with the new ship Anvil Carrack.
• In addition, there was a demo of a new mission type, which is about data theft.
• Last, but not Least: A new PVP mode called "Theatres of War" for up to 40 players was presented.
