Download Eduroam - how to use the university WLAN

Eduroam or Education Roaming is an initiative that allows all staff and students at various universities to access the Internet. To do this, each person is given their own access with a username and password. To set up, a client is required, which you can download from the corresponding website.

How to download Eduroam?

The Eduroam Configuration Tool is now available for every operating system. So just download it from the corresponding homepage:

1. Go to the initiative's website and download the tool.
2. To do so, click on "eduroam user: download your eduroam installer" at the bottom and select your organization from the list.
3. You may now need to go to a local support site where you can download the tool.
4. Once you have downloaded the program, launch it and follow the installation steps.
5. You will usually need to enter your credentials, i.e. username and password. Then the required certificates will be added so that you can connect to the WLAN.
6. If you cannot connect to the WLAN, check whether you have entered your data correctly and contact the support of your university in case of emergency. This will help you with questions about setting up Eduroam.

Most universities also have an extra WLAN, in which only students of the respective university can log in. Use this WLAN in case of emergency.
