Your virus protection is managed by your organization

When using the Microsoft operating system, it can happen that the virus protection of Windows is disabled. Even for individuals, the message "Your virus and threat protection is managed by your organization" is then often displayed. However, there are ways to fix the error.

How to solve the problem

If you as a private person get the message "Your virus and threat protection is managed by your organization" with your Windows Defender, then this can have various causes. Usually, it is a value that has been set in the registry to disable Defender. Therefore, to fix the error, you need to change the value. In any case, make a backup of your system before making the change.

1. Press the key combination "Windows key" + "R" while you are on the desktop of your system.
2. The "Run" window will now open. Enter "regedit" in the text field and confirm the entry with "Ok".
3. On the left side now go first to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE", then switch to "SOFTWARE". Hier wählen Sie „Policies“ > „Microsoft“ > „Windows Defender“.
4. Auf der rechten Seite wählen Sie mit einem Doppelklick den Eintrag „Disable Anti Spyware“ aus.
5. Ändern Sie anschließend den Wert des Eintrags von 1 auf 0.
6. Danach können Sie den Editor schließen und Windows neu starten. Die Änderungen werden nun übernommen. Der Windows Defender sollte nun wieder aktiviert sein und die Meldung nicht mehr angezeigt werden.
