Can Google Home make phone calls? This option is available

Google's voice assistant lets you control connected devices via voice command. In addition to common queries, such as weather or controlling music, you can also make calls to your contacts. This function was first introduced in the US. Since 2018, however, it is also possible here.

How to make phone calls with the Google Home

In 2018, the voice assistant Google Home in Germany also added the function to make phone calls. To be able to make phone calls, this does not require a separate Google product. In addition, the calls are free, you only need the corresponding mobile or landline numbers. Calls can also only be made within Germany. This is how you set up the function:

1. To do this, go to the Google Home app via your smartphone.
2. Select the icon for the connected devices in the top right corner.
3. Here you will find another menu where you can select the "Settings" option.
4. Go further down in the view to get to the "Voice and Video Calls" category. Hier befinden sich alle Einstellungen, die Sie für Ihre Telefonate benötigen.
5. Aktivieren Sie die entsprechende Funktion für das Telefonieren und ändern Sie die Einstellungen nach Ihren Wünschen ab.
6. Sobald Sie alle Änderungen getroffen haben, können Sie das Menü verlassen und über einen Sprachbefehl einen Kontakt anrufen.
7. Beachten Sie, dass Sie, falls nicht bereits geschehen, die Kontakte Ihres Smartphones mit Ihrem Google Home synchronisieren müssen.
