How can I update Edge? Update the browser

Edge has replaced Internet Explorer after a long time. With the new browser, Microsoft promises faster page loading speeds and less waiting time. Normally, the browser is installed with the updates of Windows 10. So an update is always tied to a system update.

How to update Edge

To know if installing an update is even necessary, you should first check the browser version. To do this, first open the browser.
  1. Now click on the three small dots at the top right and then continue to "Settings".
  2. At the very bottom you will find the "About Microsoft Edge" section. Here you will find the current version number of the Edge browser.
  3. Now to start an update, click on the Windows search bar at the bottom left and enter "Update".
  4. Click on the option "Check for update". Now opens a window with the update settings.
  5. On top is the button "Check for updates". Click on it to start the search process.
  6. If an update is found, it will be installed automatically.
  7. Alternatively, you can also install Windows updates manually or download the browser directly from the Microsoft website.
Make sure that your Windows 10 and Edge are always kept up to date, because this is the only way to guarantee that you always have the latest security updates installed. Most of the time, new updates also offer new features that enhance Edge and other apps.
