New Microsoft Edge: What the current version can do

Edge followed Internet Explorer, but could not celebrate the hoped-for success. Still, Microsoft is not giving up and the basic renovation for Edge is something to behold. We introduce the browser.

There was a time when Microsoft's Internet Explorer was the most popular browser in the world. The new Edge is supposed to pave the way back there.

New Microsoft Edge: These are the features

The revamped Edge appeared in 2020 and came via update to the computers of millions of Windows 10 users.

• The fresh design is striking: The user interface reminds only little of the previous Edge versions, but much more of Google Chrome.
• This is no coincidence, because Edge is now based on Chromium - just like Google Chrome so.
• Because of this technical foundation, you can use the Chrome Store for extensions. These are namely compatible with the new Edge.
• The individual customizability is significantly higher than before. This already starts with the start page, which you can adjust in many ways. Predefined page layouts serve as a basis.
• Owners of a 4K monitor can see Netflix content in this resolution. Chrome ist dazu nicht in der Lage.
• Ein PDF-Viewer ist bereits integriert, auch ein Newsfeed kann eingestellt werden. Der Browser möchte damit möglichst viele beliebte Features unter einem Dach zusammenfassen.
• Praktisch ist auch die direkte Verknüpfung zu den Tools von Office 365.

Der frische Edge-Browser ist damit eine direkte, weil relativ ähnliche Alternative zu Google Chrome. Der Download ist hier möglich.
