Android 9: Reset tablet - how to do it

If your Android tablet has stopped working or you want to pass it on to someone else, you should first reset the device. This will erase all the settings you have made since you received the tablet. It will also remove all personal content from the device.

How to reset your Android 9 tablet

If you want to remove all data and settings from your Android tablet, you can reset the device. If you want to use the tablet again afterwards, make a backup of your files beforehand so that they are not irrevocably lost and you can restore them afterwards.

1. If you want to reset your tablet to factory settings, you will need the credentials of your Google account.
2. Connect the device to a power source so that it is not interrupted during the process. This can otherwise cause damage to the software.
3. Now go to the "Settings" on the tablet.
4. Click here on the menu item "System" and then "Advanced" to display more options.
5. Here you will find the entry "Reset options". In manchen Fällen finden Sie diesen Eintrag direkt unter „System“.
6. Wählen Sie nun „Alle Daten löschen (Werkseinstellungen)“ aus und anschließend „Tablet zurücksetzen“.
7. Klicken Sie jetzt auf die Schaltfläche „Alles löschen“, damit alle Daten, die sich auf dem internen Speicher befinden, ebenfalls gelöscht werden.
8. Bestätigen Sie den Vorgang nochmals, wird das Gerät nun zurückgesetzt.
