Enable Android keyboard Gboard - how to do it

If you want to enable Gboard on your smartphone instead of your default keyboard, you can download Google's keyboard for free from the Play Store. After that, activate the keyboard in the settings of your smartphone. You can use Gboard on Android and iOS.

Enable Gboard on Android

Gobard is a virtual keyboard designed for Android and iOS. This can be set on smartphones as a keyboard and replaces the standard keyboard of the operating system. To do this, you must first download Gboard from the Play Store before you can make the settings. Gboard stands out especially for its good auto-correction and high learning ability. The keyboard also supports one-handed typing. In this case, the user swipes a finger over the letters of a word to write it. With the latest Android update, Gboard also gives you a floating keyboard that you can position anywhere on the screen. The keyboard can be disabled at any time in the settings.

How to set the keyboard

  1. Open the Play Store and search for "Gobard".
  2. Tap "Install" and wait until the app is set up.
  3. Open the settings.
  4. Wählen Sie „System“ und dann „Sprache & Eingabe“.
  5. Gehen Sie zu „Bildschirmtastatur“ und dann zu „Tastaturen verwalten“.
  6. Sie sehen hier die verschiedenen Tastaturen.
  7. Schieben Sie den Regler neben „Gobard“ nach rechts.
