Satisfactory: How to generate power - info and tips

Factories need power - consequently, without power you can't progress in Satisfactory. That's why our guide explains how to get started and what options are available later.

All beginnings are organic: for the first few hours, you'll have to take care of the power supply manually.

The processes in Satisfactory always aim for full automation. A sufficient amount of electricity is therefore essential in all phases.

Satisfactory: Going with the flow - these stages are available

The first way to generate electricity is to burn biomass. As such, organic materials such as leaves, plants and trees come into question.
  • However, you have to take care of the supply of new biomass yourself.
  • This only changes with the unlocking of coal power (Tier 3). With this you can finally build a fully automated power generation. For this you need coal as a resource and a sufficient water point.
  • Even more productive in the further course are the supply by oil (fuel) and nuclear power (in that order). Geothermal power takes a special role, as it supplies only 200 W per unit, but is very efficient because it does not require any other resources.
The figures illustrate the sharp increase in power: while you generate 30 megawatts per unit when burning biomass, it is already 75 MW with coal power and finally 2,500 MW with nuclear power. In turn, of course, the demand for electricity is also increasing due to growing factories and new technologies - so there's always something to do.
