Missing Operating System: This is what the error means

When starting your Windows operating system, you may encounter the "Missing Operation System" error. In this case, you will not be able to start your operating system. The error can occur, for example, if the BIOS/UEFI cannot find the hard drive where the OS is installed. However, there are ways to fix the error.

How to fix the "Missing Operating System" error

The "Missing Operating System" error can occur if, for example, your BIOS or UEFI cannot find the hard disk on which you have installed Windows. But also if the hard disk is defective or the BIOS or UEFI settings are faulty, this problem can occur. However, the error can also have other causes.
  1. First, check if the BIOS recognizes the hard drive where your Windows is located. Restart the computer and press the appropriate key to enter the BIOS/UEFI.
  2. The BIOS will show you all the hard drives that have been detected. Check whether the hard disk on which the operating system is located is recognized. If this is not the case, the error lies here.
  3. So check whether the hard drive was installed correctly in the computer.
