iPad as a remote: How to connect iPad to Apple TV

Content you watch on Apple TV cannot be streamed to another iOS device. However, it is possible to stream content from iOS devices to the Apple TV via AirPlay.Furthermore, with the Apple TV Remote app, you have the option to use your iPad as a remote control. This requires that both the tablet and the Apple TV have the latest updates and are on the same Wi-Fi network.

1. Open the Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner of the screen.
2. Tap the Apple TV Remote icon.
3. Select the Apple TV you want to connect to from the list.
4. Finally, enter the four-digit code on the iPad that appears on the TV.

If your Smart TV is AirPlay 2 compatible, you can also control it with the Apple TV Remote app.

Apple TV Remote is not displayed

If the Apple TV Remote is not displayed in the Control Center, you need to add it manually.
