Android Q: Rotate screen - how to do it

Normally, the screen of your Android phone should rotate automatically as soon as you turn the phone from vertical to horizontal. With certain apps, you can also rotate and lock the screen manually. To do this, however, the corresponding option must be activated in the settings.

How is the screen rotated under Android Q?

Under Android Q, the screen usually rotates automatically as well. If it does not, then you must first activate the function in the settings.
  1. Open the Settings app on your smartphone by tapping on the corresponding app icon.
  2. Now go on to "Operating assistance" and activate the option "Rotate screen automatically".
  3. You can also deactivate the option again via the same path.
  4. With an app, you have the option to rotate your screen manually. This will rotate the screen, although the phone itself does not rotate.
  5. Many apps such as the "Rotation Manager" allow you to determine whether and with which app the screen is rotated. So you always have the right screen settings for each app.
  6. For this, however, you should disable the automatic rotation option, otherwise they collide with the other settings.
  7. You can also lure the screen rotation in the quick settings bar. Dazu ziehen Sie einfach die Statusleiste herunter und tippen auf das im Kreis laufende Pfeilsymbol mit dem Schloss.
