Using Magine TV on PS3 - is that possible?

Magine TV is a streaming service that allows you to live stream various TV channels. While there is a Magine TV app for devices running iOS and Android, using it on the PS3 is only possible in a roundabout way. Read how the setup works.

How to use Magine TV on PS3

If you have a PS3 and would like to use the Magine TV streaming service on the console, this is only possible via a detour. Since there is no Magine TV app for the PlayStation 3, you need a Chromecast stick to use it to send the Magine TV signal from your smartphone to your smart TV.

1. To do this, first make sure that the Chromecast is set up correctly and that you have installed the Chromecast and the Magine TV app on your smartphone.
2. Then open the Magine TV app, click on the Chromecast icon and select your smart TV as the receiving device.

PS3: Use Magine TV on the PlayStation 4

While the use of Magine TV on the PS3 is not directly possible, this looks different for users of the PS4. Since September 2017, there has been a dedicated Magine TV app that you can install on the console in just a few steps. To do so, please open the main menu on your PS4 console and navigate to the "TV & Video" section. There, look for the entry "Magine TV App" and download the app to the console. Now you only need your Magine TV user data to log in to the app and use it to watch TV on your PS4.
