iPhone X: Turn off autocorrect - how to do it
The iPhone X, just like older iPhone models, has an autocorrect feature that checks spelling and makes improvements while you write. However, if you don't want to use the autocorrect feature, it's also possible to turn it off.
iPhone X: These steps are necessary to turn off autocorrect
If the autocorrect on the iPhone X bothers you because it repeatedly corrects your entries incorrectly, you can disable it via the settings of the device.- To do this, first open the Settings app of the iPhone X by tapping on the "gear icon" in the app overview of the Home screen.
- In the settings, then navigate to "General" > "Keyboard" and move the slider next to the "Autocorrect" entry to the left to turn off the function.
- If you do not want to completely disable autocorrect, you alternatively have the option to add your own words to the iOS dictionary.
- For this, navigate on the iPhone X in the settings to "General" > "Keyboard" > "Text Substitution", type a word under "Text" and save it with "Save".
