Satisfactory: Research in the M.A.M. - that's why it's so important

The M.A.M. is one of the earliest buildings you can construct in Satisfactory. And it is advisable to do so, as research is of central importance. We explain the function of the "Molecular Analysis Machine".

Satisfactory: M.A.M. and the different research trees

The M.A.M. is your research station in Satisfactory. It is available on Tier 1 and should be built accordingly early.

• Within the research menu, there are several trees. Within each category, it is about a specific material.
• This concerns, for example, the individual special raw materials such as Caterium or Sulfur. But also mushrooms (Mycelia), alien remains, snails (Power Slugs) and food represent their own tree.
• Exploring these categories is the only way to get many important items, for example, firearms, a world map or the parachute. Also, manufacturable products such as supercomputers must be earned this way.
• In the course of research, you often have to set up certain production chains to obtain the necessary materials.

The M.A.M. research is consequently best done in parallel with the progress in the game, as it goes hand in hand with other achievements and sometimes greatly facilitates them.
