Disable Apple Pay - how to turn off the payment function

With Apple Pay, you can conveniently make contactless payments with your cell phone or tablet both online and in stores. All you need is a suitable device running iOS and a store that has an NFC terminal.

How to disable Apple Pay

To disable the Apple Pay payment feature on your phone or tablet, you have three basic alternatives to choose from. This simply turns off the application on your device, but your stored credit card can continue to be used without any problems. You can also use these methods for blocking in case of loss or similar.

Deactivate via the "Wallet App"

1. To deactivate Apple Pay via the "Wallet App", open it first.
2. Now select the corresponding credit card.
3. In the upper right corner, then tap the three dots. This gives you insight into your card details.
4. Now confirm your selection by clicking on "Delete card". This will only deactivate the selected card for "Apple Pay".

Lock via "iCloud"

1. To do this, first open "iCloud".
2. Now perform the login with your Apple ID.
3. Go to "iPhone Search".

Sperren mithilfe eines zweiten Endgerätes

1. Hierbei öffnen Sie auf Ihrem zweiten Gerät die App „iPhone-Suche“.
2. Jetzt wählen Sie das Gerät aus, das gesperrt werden soll.
3. Im Anschluss tippen Sie auf „Dieses Gerät löschen“. Auch hier kann Ihre Kreditkarte nach wie vor weiterverwendet werden.
