Excel: Insert superscripts - how to do it
For the correct display of formulas in Excel, it is often necessary that numbers are superscripted. By default, however, superscripting is not possible and must first be made displayable via appropriate formatting. Numbers can be superscripted in Excel in various ways.
Excel: Display superscripts - these are the options you have
In Excel, numbers can be displayed superscripted in two different ways. On the one hand, you can superscript numbers directly in a cell using the font settings, or you can create a formula directly.- If you want to superscript a number using the font settings, you must of course first write the numbers in a specific place.
- Now mark the number that should be superscripted and click in the top bar under Font on the small box on the right.
- In the new window, you can select a check mark at "Superscripted" in the subitem "Effects".
- Confirm the settings by clicking "OK".
Excel: Superscript numbers via formulas
- Instead of formatting a specific cell, you can directly insert a formula.
- To do this, click "Symbols" under "Insert" and then Formula.
- Now select the "Design" tab directly below "Formula Tools".
