AutoCAD: Mirror objects - how to do it

In the drawing program AutoCAD you will find, among many other functions, the possibility to easily mirror objects. But where to find the right option for this and how to use it so that you get the desired result?

How to mirror objects in AutoCAD

If you have a drawing in 2D or even an object in 3D in AutoCAD, you can easily mirror it. Once you have selected the right tool, all you need to do for this is to set the mirror axis or the mirror plane.
  1. Open your image that you want to mirror in AutoCAD or draw it.
  2. Now click on the "Modify" menu at the top.
  3. Select the "Mirror" tool. The icon you need to click is a triangle separated by a mirror axis in the middle.
  4. Your mouse cursor will now be displayed as a square. Click your object to select it, and then confirm with the Enter key.
  5. After that, click two points to set the mirror axis. If you are working with a 3D object, follow the instructions in AutoCAD to select the mirror plane.
  6. After that, the program will ask you if you want to keep or remove the selected object. After that, the mirroring is inserted.
In AutoCAD, you will also see a command line at the bottom. Geben Sie hier einfach „Spiegeln“ ein, ist es nicht nötig, das Icon im Menü „Ändern“ anzuklicken.
