AutoCAD: How to create a hatch in the program
AutoCAD is a graphical drawing editor developed by the AutoDesk company. It is used to create technical drawings, and you can also model 3D objects. AutoCAD is widely used by engineers, architects, computer scientists and other professions that need a vector-oriented drawing program.
How to create a hatch in AutoCAD
The AutoCAD program allows you to model various 3D objects, which can have any complicated structure. The vector-oriented drawing program also includes many patterns that you can use for hatching. However, if you want to create your own hatching, you must proceed differently.- Draw the contour on one of the contour layers AM_0, AM_1 or AM_2.
- Go to "Start" and then under "Group" to the "Draw" option.
- Then select the item "Hatch" in the list and then "Custom".
- Here you can now enter the various hatching properties and specify a name for your own hatching. Optionally, you can also enter a description, this is especially useful if you create several hatchings that are similar.
- About the angle, the X-Y origin and Delta X-Y, you define your own hatching.
- Make sure that X and Y origin refer to the base point of your pattern and the angle describes the angle line of your hatching.
- You use the value Delta-X for the distance of, for example, dashed lines. Delta-Y, on the other hand, is the distance of lines perpendicular to the direction of the lines.
